Beelitz Baby

Sooooo I've been wanting to go here for hmmmm about 10 years?! This was originally built as a sanatorium then was later used as military hospital, infact Hitler was himself here for treatment after the Battle of the Somme. The complex is LARGE - comprising of 60 buildings. In the height of my urbex career I had no money to go abroad, then the buildings got bought up and secured. Recently part of it has been opened up for tours and a skywalk going over the top of some of the buildings that have been reclaimed by nature (I mean an actual forest in the burnt out roof). Numerous films have been shot here (The Pianist, The Cure for Wellness to name a few) as well as a Rammstein music video. There is some grim history though including a serial killer who lured victims here. I am glad the buildings have now been secured to prevent any further damage (they are all heavily vandalised). The site had a beautiful relaxing vibe, it was easy to see why the location was chosen for its original purpose.
